The Honest Truth Behind Making Money Online
I used to look at people who had a lot of money—maybe they were successful inbusiness or made more money than I did—and say, “Wow, I don’t know how I could ever get there. They must be lucky. There must be something special about them.”
But over the last five years of running multiple businesses and earning income through about ten income streams, I learned that there’s one thing that separates people who aren’t making a lot of money or as much as they feel they should be and the people who are really killing it and successful. The key to making more money in your business or just more money in general is adding value. That’s it.
What Do You Have to Offer?
If you want to make more money, you need to figure out what it is you can exactly give; you need to give more value to get more money. Money doesn’t just miraculously come to you. It has nothing to do with luck. The people who do “get lucky” are doing the right things to put themselves in a position to get lucky. It’s what you give; it’s what you do.
Look at your business. Look at your finances and your income. Maybe you are saying to yourself, “I want to get to the next level. I’ve been doing $2,000 a month, and now I want to get to $5,000.” Maybe you’ve been doing $10,000 a month and want to get to $20,000 or $40,000. Ask yourself this simple question: “What can I do today, over the next week, over the next month, three months, six months, nine months, year, or two years to add more value to the marketplace?”
You want to make more money? Serve more people. You want to make more money? Help more people. You want to make more money? Find out what people are struggling with. Figure out their challenge and what they want. And then serve them—give, give, give. That’s really the secret to making more money.
Now, there are a million different ways that you can make money online. It doesn’t matter how old you are. Age is just a number. It doesn’t matter what color you are, what gender you are, your background, or your experience. It really doesn’t matter. Anyone who makes excuses based on these things is talking a bunch of BS nonsense.
The key deciding factor is this: Are you going to serve a market? Are you going to serve the customers in that market really well? Are you going to figure out solutions to their problems? Are you going to give a massive amount of value? So whether it’s private label, selling on eBay, Amazon FBA, wholesale, or Shopify, it’s all just an indication of how much value that you’re giving. That’s really the equivalent to what’s in your bank account.
I know I’m not offering any specific, hands-on strategies here, but I’ve actually found out over the last five years of running businesses that you can have the best strategies in the world, but if your mind isn’t in the right place, if you don’t understand things like this—the importance of adding value, making a difference, and serving people—strategies don’t really matter because it’s going to hold you back.
