RPS #042 – Start Waking up Early

Start Waking up Early

One of the best habits that you can start building right away is waking up early every single morning. Now, yes, you are allowed to give yourself a day here and there if you want to sleep in. You don’t want to fall behind on sleep—say, getting less than seven hours a night. For the most part, waking up early will transform your life as it has done for mine. When you start your day early, you rise and shine and can really get something done. For me, it’s always going to the gym. Good health is essential. It is my number one value because if I do not take care of my health, I cannot take care of my friends, my family, my business, or my finances. I would just not be in a position to do that to my fullest potential. I would be depressed. My self-esteem would be all out of whack. So in my eyes, my priority is waking up early to take care of my health.

Start waking early every single morning and get that one big thing done. It will transform your life. Especially if you live in a warm climate, there is nothing more beautiful than waking up early and feeling that sunshine against your skin. Wake up early, go outside, and drink some water—it is just an amazing feeling.

The 30-Minute Method

This does not mean you have to wake at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning. You can take baby steps. If you’re usually waking up at 10:00 and want to start waking up a little earlier, get up at 9:30 or 9:00 and slowly work your way down in 30-minute increments.

There was a time eight or nine years ago that I would wake up at noon. I slowly worked my way down 30 minutes at a time, and now I usually wake up around 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning depending on what time I went to bed. I do notice that if I get less than six hours of sleep, I perform 50 percent worse. I try to get at least seven hours of sleep every single night.

What Could You Get Done?

I have experimented with this, but I can tell you right now that it is a game changer. Wake up early and get that one big thing done that is going to move your life forward. Imagine that one area of your life
that you want to start taking care of and make progress in. How would accomplishing success in that one area make everything else in your life shift?

As I said, I knew I had to take care of my health. I have been documenting my health journey on YouTube. I share different things about my life outside of just business because then you can see the real effects these other aspects have. If you look back at my videos from over a year ago, I’m a completely different person. You could see it in my attitude, on my face, in my facial reactions, through my energy levels, and even in my results in terms of income and business. Start waking up early and take care of that one thing.

A simple and great tip for waking up early is getting an alarm clock off Amazon. Get a really loud and annoying one, and move it all the way across your room so when it goes off, you have to get up. Because if you get up and are standing, there’s a 90 percent chance you’re going to stay awake. But if the alarm clock is right next to you, it will be so easy to hit that snooze button.

The Game Changer

Start waking up early. It will be a game changer for you. Go out, drink some water, get some sun on your skin, take care of that one thing, and watch as your life changes in front of your eyes. So what’s my plan tomorrow morning? You know I’ll be going into the gym to take care of my one big thing. And after that, I plan to have an amazing day, and I hope you do too.
