The Lazy Man’s Way to Riches (NOT What You Think!)
Typically in the morning—but at least once per day—I read. I love reading. When you read something positive or educational first thing in the morning, it really sets up your day for success. It gets you in the zone.
I’ve had several people say to me, “I want to get around more positive people. I want to surround myself with people and information and ideas that align me with my goals and the places I want to go.”
And I’ll tell you right now, if you don’t have people like that in your life, the easiest way to surround yourself with positivity and high levels of learning and education is to read books.
A Recommendation
One book I recommend is The Lazy Man’s Way to Riches. The title is click bait; it’s not what you think it is. It’s actually very, very important. What I’ve learned from this book is how important it is to have a positive self-image.
Many people, from when they were little boys and girls, have a negative self-image because of the way their parents treated them and from their values and beliefs that they were taught when they were little.
When we grow to adults, we carry these things with us in our subconscious minds. It really affects our behavior, the way we feel, and the way we think about ourselves. It colors the way we see the world and plays out big in terms of what we can accomplish in our lives.
If you see yourself as unsuccessful, as someone who is not smart enough, then you will be unsuccessful. If you think that because your parents and grandparents didn’t make a lot of money that you won’t either, then you won’t make a lot of money. These things are going to stick with you.
The book goes into the nuts and bolts of reconditioning ourselves and having a differentself-image, which is important.
Get into the Habit
But the bigger takeaway here is that you should be sure to read something educational every single day. Read something that just gets you thinking positive.
Don’t wake up first thing in the morning and start watching the news or listening to politics and all these crazy things. You want to start the day off right. And reading definitely helps a lot. So get yourself a good book. Start reading and make it a habit.
