RPS #159 – Dealing with Tough Times and Moving Forward

Hey, what’s going on everybody? Steve here, Raiken Profit. Coming back to you with another video and I wanted to make this video to be able to add value to your life because, you wanna know what, when it comes to building a business or if you’re on a health journey like myself, I’ve lost 25, 30 pounds over the last couple of years, put on a good amount of muscle, when you’re building businesses, when you’re trying to get healthy, when you’re going after your goals, it’s not gonna be just straight up towards success and achievement. You’re gonna have ups and downs and sometimes life’s gonna just smack you in the face and something’s gonna happen but at the end of the day, it’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s not how many times you get stuck in place, it’s a matter of are you getting back up and do you keep fighting and pushing forward?

And I’m not making this video to be all rah-rah, Tony Robbins, Gary Vee, get you all pumped up and motivated because a lot of people think that I’m making these videos to motivate you. At the end of the day, I’ll be honest with you, I’m making these for myself. I really am trying to cope with my own emotions and deal with what I’m going on. Obviously, I have the goal of I wanna share it because I wanna help you guys out as well but I make a lot of videos as like therapy for myself and I wanna make this video kind of as an accountability post for myself and for anyone who can relate. And what I wanna talk about was my health and dealing with emotions and stuff. Lately, over the last month and a half, I’ve been dealing with some issues, some relationship issues.

I messed up my back really, really bad a month and a half ago and I’ve been struggling and I kind of lost touch with my goals and my purpose a little bit and sometimes you just get overwhelmed and stressed out and a month goes by, two months goes by and then negative things start to happen. Like over the last month and a half, I’ve gained a good six pounds or so, maybe a little bit more. Now, that might be all fat. It could water weight and what not but the reason I gained weight was because I was using food to deal with my emotions and when it comes to accomplishing your goals, whether that’s financial, business, Ebay, maybe you wanna get a certain amount of inventory because you know that your inventory number correlates with how much sales you make where you have a goal of how many times you want to go to the gym, weight loss, whatever it is.

Your ability to deal with your emotions is going to be strongly correlated to you accomplishing your goal and when you lose focus of what you want and you lose control of your mind, your body goes and then the next thing you know, your actions go, your thoughts go and you’re five, 10, 15 steps behind where you wanted to be. So, I wanna make this video to kind of give you a tip in terms of what I’ve been doing to regain control of my mind and to get back on track again. One of the best things that you can do is starting your day off on the right foot by going through a morning ritual. How you start the day is typically how you end the day and if you start your day and you’re just pissed off and angry and negative and when you’re kind of in a slump. I’ll be honest, I’ve been waking up every morning just kind of being a little depressed and not feeling well, not super motivated.

It’s tough to get through the day so by starting the day off by doing certain things, which I’m gonna talk about, and I’ve shared this in previous videos, it really helps out a lot. So, one of the things that I like to do in the morning lately and that’s been drinking a ton of water. I’m not talking about just drinking one glass of water but if you drink like five or six or seven glasses of water first thing in the morning, now talk your time. Don’t just all chug it super quick, take your time. You could even sprinkle a little bit of lemon in it and maybe a little bit of salt, electrolytes right there and it makes you feel much better. I’ve noticed I’ve been waking up in the morning every day dehydrated and if you’re feeling a little bit down and you’re off track with your goals and you’re dehydrated, it makes things way worse. So, drink a bunch of water first thing in the morning.

Also, right when I wake up in the morning, I like to smile. Put a smile on your face. When you smile and even if you’re just trying to fake until you make it, it does make you feel a little bit better. So, drink some water and smile. The next thing that I like to do and this is something that I would love for you guys to go out and practice is go out and buy a bunch of note cards, little three by five note cards, and go online and type in positive affirmations for, fill in the blank. So, maybe for success of for health or for business or for prosperity and you’ll find all these different positive affirmations that people have already created and write down 15 or 20 of your favorite affirmations that relate to whatever it is you’re looking to break out of. Maybe you break out of your nasty slump with your diet and health or you wanna break into a new business, whatever it is, write 15 or 20 of those down and just start repeating them.

Repeat them in the morning and at nighttime if you can but don’t just repeat it and say something like, “I only eat healthy foods that energize my nobody.” I actually said it with some emotion because I’m so used to it. Don’t just say, “I only eat foods that are congruent with a healthy, thin, fit body of 165 pounds.” No, put emotion into it. Get excited, get your body moving and then start to visualize it. I’m telling you, it sounds corny and again, a lot of you guys are probably like, “Steve, this is all rah-rah, Tony Robbins, bull crap.” But I’m telling you right now, write down where you feel right now.

If you wake up in the morning and you’re depressed or you’re down, write down, kind of
gauge where you feel you stand, one through 10. One being super depressed, unhappy,
unaligned and 10 being on top of the world.

If you’re at like a two or three, write that down and then go through what I’m sharing with you and I’ll guarantee you’ll double it. You’ll be a six or a seven, maybe even higher. So, read those positive affirmations, put your body into it, put your emotion into it and visualize it as you’re actually saying it. Another thing I want you to do is write down your goals, okay? Make them realistic, maybe something you could achieve in the next three to six months. Write down your top goals in terms of whatever it is that you’re looking to change or in all areas of your life and read them with the same emotion and a passion that you’re reading them with when you’re doing your positive affirmations, okay? So, drinking water, smiling, reading your positive affirmations, reading your goals and then the last thing I would like you to do because for me personally, my mind has just been all messed up lately.

I’ve been stressed out, dealing with this back injury, just overwhelmed with different things. I’m not gonna get into all of my personal stuff. I really want you to just take this and relate this to your life but when your mind’s going crazy, a million miles per hour, maybe you’re similar to me, it’s hard to do any of this stuff. So, one of the things you can actually start with, even maybe after you drink your water, you can do it at the end, I do it at the end, is meditate. Take five minutes, close your eyes and there’s a couple ways you can do this. You could sit and you could focus on your breathing or you can repeat a mantra. Maybe like, “I love myself.” Or, “I’m successful.” Or, “I feel amazing,” or sometimes there’s like different sounds and stuff that you could make. Just research meditation but essentially what you wanna do is focus on something other than your thoughts.

So that could be a mantra, that could be a word or whatever, right? So, that really helps because you kind of go into like a peaceful place and your thoughts start to slow down and after five or 10 minutes you get out of this and, I don’t know, you just feel at peace and I can tell you right now, like I said before, when my mind is out of control and I’m stressed out of all these different emotions and I am not doing a good job at managing my emotions, I can tell you right now, that my ability to accomplish my goals is going to be very, very low. It’s not gonna be very powerful. I’m not gonna be accomplishing my goals so over the last month and a half I’ve kind of lost track of these things so I’m trying to get back into the groove of retraining and reprogramming my mind and this is just something that you can do, right?

So, a lot of people don’t think that your thoughts matter. A lot of people don’t thing that the way that you speak to yourself and the people you hang out with really has an effect on you but it does. I can tell you right now, you can do all the things right in the world but if you’re negative, if you doubt yourself, if your mind is a mess, I can tell you right now, if your inner world’s a mess, your outer world’s gonna be just as messy and things are gonna go wrong and over the last month and a half, just dealing with things in life and it’s not an excuse, I’m not trying to rationalize and some of you are probably like, “What the heck you talking about, Steve?” But just relate this to your life. If your inner world’s a mess, I can promise you your outer world’s a mess.

So, by utilizing this exercise in the morning, going through these things, all it takes is 10, 15 minutes. It can really make a different in your day and in terms of your outcomes. So, just wanna share this video with you guys. I appreciate you all. Hopefully, you have an amazing day and I’ll see you in the next one. Peace.
